Tree Cabling & Protection

Synthetic Cable

The traditional method of cabling has involved the use of steel cable and hardware installed directly into the tree. There is another option available which is not invasive to the tree while still remaining very strong.

We use a cable system designed by Atlantic Braids which uses a hollow core polyester rope, giving the cable a flat edge which will not bite into the tree. The system is adjustable and is easier to install than a steel cable system.

The cable can be used to support separate large vertical stems as well as large horizontal limbs.

Tree Protection

Protecting trees during the construction or landscaping process is important to their long term viability.

There are several ways trees are harmed during construction, including damage to the stem or branches and tearing up of roots. What tends to go unseen is compaction of the soil around the tree’s root zone. This will severely restrict the flow of oxygen in the soil, leading to root death and tree stress.

Protecting your trees before the damage occurs is the best way to ensure the long term health of your trees.
